Neuro-Acupuncture is a contemporary acupuncture technique which integrates classical Chinese needling with neuroscience. It is also referred to as scalp acupuncture because specific areas of the scalp are needled to stimulate the underlying brain cells.

Neuro-Acupuncture is extremely safe and effective. It requires very few needles and effects are often seen immediately. Most commonly used for post-stroke recovery, Neuro-Acupuncture in fact treats many other neurological problems: Cerebral Palsy, Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, Traumatic Brain Injury, phantom pain, PTSD, Autism, anxiety, and pain.

Neuro-Acupuncture is based on the latest scientific understanding of brain area functioning and neuroplasticity. By stimulating areas associated with motor, sensory or other functional impairment, brain cells are induced to make new connections and surrounding neurons are recruited to reform circuitry and restore the lost abilities.

Here are 2 recent videos to give you a feel for what neuro-acupuncture is, and how it works. The first is a special report from Global Dragon TV on Neuro-Acupuncture. More information also found at the Neuro-Acupuncture Institute’s website.

The second video, put out by Dr. Jason Hao’s Neuro-Acupuncture Institute, interviews patients suffering from PTSD and traumatic brain injury.
